The Overberg Renosterveld Conservation Trust is the brain child of our Director, Dr Odette Curtis-Scott. Her passion for Renosterveld conservation combined with her research knowledge of its management led to establishment of the Trust. Its sole purpose is the conservation of threatened and neglected lowland habitats in the Overberg, South Africa, with an initial focus on Renosterveld.
In 2012, the ORCT was registered and founded by the Suurbraak Grain Farmers Co-operative, a Black-Economic Empowerment farming company, with a strong interest in conservation initiatives.
The ORCT is governed by a small Governing Board comprising five people of high calibre in the field of conservation and run on a day-to-day basis by a small and dynamic team.
